polishes in a package

I interrupt again, my long over due next installment for my Butuan series with some recent events. I'm back on my mindless-purchasing-of-nail-polishes phase again. I saw Essie's Armed and Ready earlier while browsing through my Pinterest feed and was ecstatic when I found it on Zalora. I browsed the other polishes available and saw Zoya's Feifei and quickly pushed the Add to Cart button. So I ordered this and this and checked out before I add more items to my cart. I paid with my credit card, received the confirmation email, etc. You know the drill. My package was set to arrive on January 7, and when I got home from work that day, wouldn't you know, it was there, waiting for me to tear it open and try out the polishes.
Love the box! :)
I love Zalora's box, and they package the product really well (bordering on not-wanting-the-buyer-to-open-it-ever) as the bottles were in plastic, then wrapped with bubble wrap and then placed in a neat little box too big for two bottles of polish (must buy more next time to decrease wasted space ;>).

My new nail polishes!

I was a tad disappointed with Zoya's Feifei because I thought it was more purple than silver from the photo at Zalora. Still, I was dying to try it out since it was my first Zoya and I have been fascinated with the brand since I saw an emerald polish with suede finish from them. It looks like it's simply chrome-ish, right? But if you look closer, although I doubt anyone would be looking that close at my nails, it has specks of green and blue glitters which add more depth to the color, especially when the light hits. This disappointment in shade was overshadowed by my awe when I first applied it. It went on thin. So thin that I needed three coats for better opacity. But thin enough that it dries quickly on the nail, making the coats smoother and making the finish generally cleaner and prettier.

Zoya FeiFei
Essie's Armed and Ready, on the other hand (not literally), is darker than pictured in Zalora, with the delicious chameleon color, going from camo green to camo brown with gold in between. I will be trying it on when I've had a proper manicure. A shade like that must be put on immaculate nails, preferrably by professionals.

So until then, or until I rightly continue my Butuan series, you can find me in front of my computer re-watching ALL episodes of Emily Owens MD while waiting for the new episode (which is probably already available now, but seeing as I am at the office...).

PS, Crediting my iPad Mini, which is responsible for the better quality pictures.
